After recently announcing that there will be a demo for Left 4 Dead, we were desperate to get the full story, so while waiting to have another bash at slaying some zombies, we had a quick chat with Chet Faliszek from Valve about what exactly will be in the demo, and when we will see it up on Steam.
The campaign they had on show was the first in the game, consisting of 5 maps which lead up to the finale of you working your way up a hospital building to get to the roof so you can escape on a helicopter. According to Chet, the demo "will most likely be the first two maps of the hospital campaign". These two missions start outside in a series of streets and later lead you into a subway station where you make your way through tunnels and train carriages to get to the next safe house. When asked about the ETA of the demo, all we were able to get was "shortly before release" so at least we will all get a good chance to have a go before the game hits Steam on November 18th and in shops on November 21st. We also asked if there would be any early access rights to those who pre-order though he said he wasn't sure yet, so stay tuned this week as we bring you more updates on Left 4 Dead.
